Anyone using Royal Purple ATF

I guess another question is if I do decide to go with Amsoil should I go with their multi-vehicle ATF or their fuel efficient ATF. I would lean towards their fuel efficient ATF as it is compatible with DW-1 and DW-1 appears to work much better in our transmissions than Z-1 did.

Both Amsoil multi-vehicle and fuel-efficient ATF's are synthetic. So they are both far superior to Z-1. DW-1 is also synthetic and also much better than Z-1.

The higher viscosity of Amsoil multi-vehicle is closer to Z-1. The lower viscosity of Amsoil fuel-efficient is closer to DW-1.

I went with Amsoil multi-vehicle due to its viscosity. The transmission in my 02 was built for the higher-viscosity ATF, not the lower-viscosity ATF.

However, I still have an open mind about using Amsoil fuel-efficient, or DW-1 for that matter.

I wish I knew how much friction modifiers are in DW-1. That was the second demerit of Z-1 - it had lots of friction modifiers for smooth shifts, but this contributed to clutch wear.
