Installing a hitch, p/s and atf cooler is in my immediate future so I'm shopping around and searching online for info. I have an 05 Touring and noticed an obvious difference between an 05 ATF cooler (just one longer coil) and the 07 cooler (a bit shorter but more coils) and thought, hmm, it looks like they decided to improve these things in 07 because maybe one long coil wasn't cutting it.
For installation, I'm only comparing the two PDF installation files but it looks as though either one might fit.
Anyone have any thoughts/experience on this?

I would simply buy the Honda specified ones for the model year and such. Look at Honda, Acura and Toyota Accessories and they have the best ones. I've seen the aftermarket hitches and honestly none of them look as clean or have the build quality of the Honda ones. Thats what I have on my 07.

Look around on here. There are a few discussions on this. IIRC there are a handful of folks who have actually used the 07+ cooler on their 05/06 vans. Contrary to the above poster's advise, if I were you, I'd go for the better cooler or go aftermarket stacked plate cooler which the 07+ is.

That's good news. I'm of the opinion that the third gen of Odys probably will have improvements which most likely (or possibly) can be backwards compatible. This could mean the newer ATF cooler assembly from an 07 will work fine with an 05. I wasn't suggesting using aftermarket parts.

I'll hunt around in the posts. Thanks

Here's a comparison....

There is nothing "heavy duty" about any of those PSF coolers. They are remarkably average.

The 2007+ ATF cooler is still pretty "light weight" in terms of heat exchange capability, but it is better than preceding years, and the added strong point is that the 2007+ Odys have the stronger tranny.
