So I have been thinking about adding the Honda ATF cooler to help the tranny. I do not tow and don't haul a lot of weight in it. I am leaning towards the OEM cooler versus aftermarket due to warranty, etc.

Bernardi: $217

Handa: $213

G1parts: $208

HondaPartsNow: $215

Majestic: $165
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com...5DR+EX&catcgry4=KA5AT&catcgry5=ATF+COOLER+KIT

Is the Majestic price too good to be true? Should I do the PS cooler at the same time? Should I jump on the Majestic price of 165$

Thanks!

True that an aftermarket cooler is ~$50 and I may do that on my '02 accord, but my concern is any warranty issue regarding the Ody being a 2010 and new. In addition, the OEM one for the 2010 tranny is a similar design to an aftermarket and should be closely efficient.

In theory that would be easy, but in reality, murphy would show up, and while I am traveling for work the wife will call with a problem and she won't be taking the bumper off to remove the aftermarket cooler, hah. Much less, having to take the bumper off every time the vehicle goes into the dealer isn't really that convenient. thanks but ymmv.

Dude, I was not intending to be sarcastic or snarky. If you took it that way, then I am sorry. :)

Since I do travel a bit for work, I would just hate for my wife to have to deal with any dealer experience if they commented about a non-Honda part while the vehicle is still under warranty, that's all.

A lot of people have had tranny issues and a lot of folks have added coolers. Also, many may be thinking about it adding one, including myself. I thought that one web price seemed too good compared to the others not to possibly jump on it and/or alert others that may be interested (since this thread can be searched for by others looking to install a cooler).

Thanks for your feedback and happy new year!

How do you figure that one? There are several dealers themselves who install non-OEM coolers for a cheaper price. Besides, what about the Moss-Magnuson Warranty Act?

I'd save the money and just go with an aftermarket one. They're better than the OEM one any way. I plan to do that this spring/summer on my 2007 and its still under HondaCare. I'd dare the local stealer to deny warranty (if I need it) after I add an aftermarket cooler.
You do have a point about the M-MWA. The one thing that I like about the stacked plate design is its ability to be impervious to flying rocks or other debris, especially after spending $700 (dec '09) to replace the AC condenser in the accord. I'd be especially pissed if a rock on the interstate going 75mph took out the tranny on the Ody. That is definitely a strong argument for an aftermarket unit over the oem (in addition to the price savings & efficiency). thanks!
