I am strongly considering ordering a 2002 Odyssey EX. For those who have young toddlers, I'm wondering where most install the child seat.

Can the 2nd row captains seat be moved toward the center and a child's seat installed there?

Installing the seat in the 3rd row seats kind of defeats the purpose of the magic seat.

For one child, yes--move the rightmost middle row seat into the middle of the van, creating a bench seat and put your toddler there.

That's a great feature. I hate captain's chairs as the only choice in a van. Sometimes I want a bench--and Honda accommodates.

With two, we're back to captain's chairs for ease of getting the little people in and out.

I agree--the magic seat is lacking a bit for those with three little ones. It *should* be a split seat.

We have our child strapped to the second row.Much easier to access,like you said.
There were several discussions about this in the Kids and Safety section. You can do a search there. Enjoy !
