you could try to install yourself, here are the installation instructions: http://www.handa-accessories.com/odyssey/11backup.pdf

But after reading them I think you'll probably want your dealer to do it. The $400 price is retail without installation. You can find the kit cheaper online for around $330-350.

You could try talking to your service department what they would charge to do the install. At my dealership, the parts and service departments were independent in nature.

Anyhow, see if you can get them to give you a good price just on the labor (and let them put it in writing) as they will probably assume you are buying the parts there and will "maybe" cut you a break. Then, buy the parts on line. =)

A buddy of mine told me that backup sensors don't work great and a rear view camera is a much better deal. EX-L already has one, so I guess I don't have to think about spending $400+.
