I need to know if there are any transmission issues with the 2005-2010 Odysseys. I heard that the 2007 has the Ridgeline (four shaft) transmission in it and the 2006 and 2005 have the older, three shaft (I think) in them.

I am extremely mad at Honda because the FOURTH transmission on my 2001 LX has blown up and I don't think we will be fixing it again this time. I just can't see keeping a vehicle that I need to change the transmissions more than I change tires on.

What do I need to know about 2005-2010 Ody Transmissions?

Man, that sucks. Are you still within the 3 year 36,000 mile waranty on the 3rd transmission? I guess the whining in Park you have been hearing wasn't the starter.

I know there has been issues with the torque converter shudder/judder in the 2007+ Odysseys.

Maybe time to switch brands - gasp!

99-03 Honda transmissions in CL's and TL's were horrid, too. I know a guy who's had one rebuilt 4 or 5 times. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably have looked for an 07> instead.

No, it isn't in the warranty period. We have 60,000 miles on this transmission so it is out of warranty. I love everything else about my Odyssey but these transmission problems. Right now it is sitting at the dealer and I don't think Honda is going to help out any with this. You know what really pisses me off is that they keep putting in the same defective parts. I know they have made updates, but they obviously are not working. We are seriously looking at used Toyota vans 2006-2008 which we might be able to afford.

The dealer might give us something for this one on a trade in which would at least be something but I won't know until Monday. They are supposedly calling American Honda about getting this one fixed but then I will only have about 2 years before that transmission blows up. If they give us something for the trade, we would probably be looking at a 2005-2008 Odysseys they have but I don't know if those have transmission problems either.
