I want to buy a few extras (long story), but not sure what to call them for googling. Do they have an official name?

I'd rather buy on the net, less hassle for me at this point.

Thank you

Oh, 06 EXL.

I think Honda ran out of them after building my LX. :D

ha! That's classic. I really hate them. One, fine. But 4 or 5 ? I have an EXL and there are that many.

I'm thinking I'd ask my dealer, they might have a few sitting around from installs or something.

Or... visit a Honda dealer you really hate & grab one out of their showroom Ody! No don't do that. You'll never forgive yourself... or will you?!?:uh:

Ours are all covered up by the ScanGauge

massively bummed. I went to pickup the blanks panels, and the color is off. The gray is more Taupe, or tanish gray than the true gray of my 06 interior. It's off enough that it looks silly in the dash. I march back in to the place, and he uses my VIN to look it up, and it's the right part after all. I popped one of my others out and sure enough, same exact part number molded on it.

Great. Now what? Either Honda screwed up, the plastic company molded wrong, who knows. I have no clue now what to do, short of driving around looking for 06 EXL vans in used lots and trying to see if I'm the only one with true grey interior.

Why can't this stuff ever go as planned?

See my last post (edited to include some info).

interesting. Too bad it doesn't look more "factory". It looks like a mechanics tool.

I ended up re-mounting my radar detector mute switch thing back in the old hole cover. It was either that, or get the fog lights!

It is actually about information, especially realtime coolant temperature, which your gauge does not tell you. I also let it monitor charging system voltage, intake air temperature and sometimes manifold absolute pressure (MAP), which is like a reversed vacuum gauge, wherein low numbers are good and high numbers are bad (for fuel mileage). Many mods do not look "factory", but if they accomplish the desired effect.........

The VSA switch appears to be covered, but the bottom of that switch is exposed a bit and it can be turned on and off without moving the gauge. Neat, eh?

I've always called them switchblanks. I wish Honda would do what Mazda used to do and instead of just a blank switch, Mazda would have small coin trays.

So at least they are useful if you are not going to pop them out for an accessory installation.

Honda does make a plug in coin tray sized for the typical switchblank, but they're offered as a JDM add/part replacement.
