Besides the driver's window that won't come back up on our BRAND NEW 2021 EX-L, we've noticed the BSM system does NOT work. I've done a search on this forum and see other folks have had this, but no one posted what was found to be the resolution. Anyone know what was found to be the answer?

I've checked several times to check the settings under vehicle settings, and have it set for both visual and audible. No luck. I'm aware you have to be driving over 20 mph as well. We had other vehicles pass us on both sides of the van at 65 mph to see if it was just one of the sensors, but nope, both sides don't work.

Brand new car. Bought last week. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come. The '17 Pilot Touring AWD we traded in was flawless .....

It goes back to the dealer on Monday to fix both the driver's window, and this BSM system besides installing the heated steering wheel, body side moldings and putting in the all season floor mats that arrived to their parts dept yesterday.

Sorry to read about your woes.

Perhaps your Pilot was built on a Monday and your Ody was built on a Friday. Its just luck of the draw and the more stuff you find wrong before you take it in, the better as it'd save you one or more trips. The BSM may be a fuse that was not installed (just speculating). The window should have been checked with the PDI. I suppose the dealer's PDI people are sloppy?

^^^ no the EX-L does not come with the heated wheel, you have to go all the way up to the Elite to get that.

I am unaware of any switch to turn on the BSM system. I have repeatedly check to see that I have the visible and audible notification turned on. Unless there is something else I am unaware of.

^^^ OK, WHERE do I find that, as I went through every single setting for the car.... the choice was either to choose visual only, or visual and audible, which I chose.

If there is some overall place to turn it on, I can't seem to figure it out..... please let me know.... and I've read the manual, cover to cover....

Or they just filled out the paperwork and at a glance it looked OK.🤪
 
On the dash by your left knee in the bank of buttons there's the new security logo where the van has a circle around it. Click on that and it'll allow you to activate/turn off the blind spot monitoring as well as the collision mitigation braking system and road departure mitigation. Hopefully that's all it is!

Hodog....... OK, now I feel like a total idiot !!!! Thank you. Problem solved. While I haven't tried it out, I did see that I didn't have it turned on, or the road departure warning.

I had been setting up everything from the main large center stack screen. Only thing I saw was to choose from either visual, or both audio and visual. Never knew there was a primary on/off.

Curious if it also for some reason fixed your window problem?
 
No problem! Glad to hopefully have fixed it. Let us know how you get on with the next drive.

Ironically I found that menu because I wanted to turn off road departure mitigation, otherwise I also would assume it’s the central menu.

that would just be too weird...... I think I'll wait to try it until we pull up to the dealership on Monday just in case it doesn't work.

^^^ mine is fine....... it was just user error.... ME, didn't have it turned on from the left side button above my knee. I had only been using the main info center stack screen and under vehicle settings, choosing to have it audible as well as visual. Didn't realize I first had to turn it on. And this is our 5th Odyssey since 2004..... go figure.
 
Can the title be changed, in light of the events?
 
Exact same issue ... 2022 Honda Odyssey EX-L ... family member took delivery and BSM not working (BSM indicators not lighting up). Why Honda puts this in two locations doesn't make sense. Guess the switch is hard wired. This gets me thinking if the setting comes disabled from the factory or if the dealership disables this for some reason during PDI.

if the sensor on the driver side detects vehicles in the blindspot, then the driver side sensor illuminates. Similar for the passenger side. There is no audible alert, when the turn signals are not used.

The sensor has a minimum detection distance and if the vehicle is too far to the left or too far to the right, it will not set off the alert. If the owner does determine that the system is not functioning properly, then take it to the dealership and let them figure it out. I would presume the Ody is a brand new 2022 and not a used 2022.
