Boy, these Ody's are hard to come by in IL. Called a dealer in Libertyville, IL about a EX-L and they said it would be a 4-5 month wait.

While driving down to see family in Richmond, IN I called the Honda dealer to see if they had any EX-L's. They had a granite green EX-L and we negotiated the price $250 under MSRP. Drove it off the lot that day and are very happy with our purchase.

I had the same experience, with the same EX-L GG last month. I have a feeling MSRP may be a thing of the past within the next year.

I hope the values of the Odyssey don't go down because the market is going to be flooded with ones from Alabama. We needed a dependable car ASAP so we took what we could negotiate off the price. How do you like your EX-L. We wanted to get a dvd because we do a lot of traveling but it wasn't available. We have purchased a 9" tv/vcr in a bag so we can use it on trips. Any experience with that?

How do you like that tv/vcr and what does that cost. I don't want the entertainment system, I ordered the EX nav, but for trips I would get something like that as long as it is removable. I also prefer video tapes because we have a lot of them and no kids dvd's.

I wouldn't worry about Odyssey's flooding the market with the Alabama plant. I have heard that the Canadian plant will be making the new Pilot SUV and will be reducing the Odyssey's they make as the Alabama plant picks up speed. This is just what I have heard on the boards, I don't know it for fact. Besides, Honda's keep their value better mainly because of quality and reliability, IMHO.

I heard the same thing from my Ody salesman. He predicted that around mid April there will be no more Odys on dealer lots. During March he expects a supply bubble (I got my GG Navi abt. 4 weeks ahead of schedule), but Canada will eventually not make any Odys; only MDXs and PILOTs and Alabama will max out at around 150,000 Odys. A few thousand more than the previous combined high.

I haven't tried the tv vcr out yet. It is still in the box. Target had a Memorex 9" in this weeks ad for $174.00. If you bought that, you got a bag for free while supplies lasted. I got one of the last tv's and bags at the store I bought it at. We only have tapes so I thought it would be a good idea. Go under the forum -- stereo, dvd's etc and it has more info from others about the set up.

Was lucky enough today to locate a dealer in the cleveland area that sold me a new 02 Ody EXL with RES for $29190, $1000 BELOW MSRP with no add ons or hassle whatsoever. Maybe the pipeline is filling up--he had several on his lot

I grew up in Avon Lake, OH. I had called a few dealers around the Cleveland area and they were willing to give me $500 off the MSRP. That was a better deal but they didn't have any EX-L's. They said that they could leather in it but I wanted it from Honda.

Enjoy your EX-L. I had a similar experience with a SS EX-L on President's Day at a dealer in S. Portland, ME. Van came off the truck on Saturday with no pre-sale and bought Monday for $600 below MSRP with no add-ons. Dealer claims this was the first time they had discounted off MSRP in 3 years. Only hassle was having to sell my problematic 96' GC myself after dealer qouted 1/2 of actual NADA trade value. Sold it within a week and can't be happier to see the ODY in it's place !
