Hi everyone. new to the forums, My wife has a 03 Odyssey Ex, A few weeks ago the brake light switch went out,(wouldn't shift out of park and none of the brake lights would work) and at the same time the brake lamp light came on, Well a simple brake light switch from Honda was only 9 dollars and very easy to change out, (cured the lights working and shifting in to gear). But my brake light lamp on the dash still stays on. I have checked the bulbs and they was a bit blackish, went and bought new 7443 bulbs for the brake lights and new 921 bulb for the 3rd brake light. Well that was a no go. lights are working but wife is getting annoyed at the brake light lamp on the dash. Done a little searching the forums and someone was posted about a sensor on the left rear c pillar. Would this be the most likely thing it would be?

Thanks for any info!

Maybe a switch on the parking brake pedal? ......
That's what it sounds like to me, too.

No abs light on.I think I located the sensor in the back. Took it a apart and there was the whitish residue on it. Cleaned it with alcohol and reassembled. So far the light is staying off.

As far as the brake light switch goes, it was replaced with one from Honda.

Can you tell me where the sensor is and how I can gain access to it? I have an 03EX as well and my "brake lamp" light is on also. Bulbs are good.
Thanks

Sizzle. the sensor is behind the rear drivers side plastic panel in the cargo area. behind the 3rd seat. Little black box that has a wire loom and plug going to it. If I remember correctly there was a couple screws I had to remove then I was able to pry the panel back to reach it. Hope it works for you
