2002 model. The brake pedal makes a click noise when I press it and one when I release it. When I put the van in drive the noise stops. Any one else experience this?

I think what you are hearing is the safety switch which is on the brake. If you will notice, you cannot shift out of park unless you have the brake depressed. It is a good thing and the "click" is normal. It is meant to prevent the dreaded "unintended acceleration", of Audi fame.

I agree with Jerry. The click that you are hearing is the relay or solenoid that releases the lock to allow the transmission to be shifted out of park. It's like that on most cars.
