I read in the manual that the brake wear indicator sounds like an "audible screeching." While I'd be hard pressed to call it a screeching, I am noticing what I would call a high-pitched whistle while braking when at high speeds. Certainly doesn't sound like typical brake squeal due to factors other than wear.

Does this sound like the wear indicator?

Thanks.

Probably not. You will hear a metal-on-metal sound at all speeds when down to wear indicator. Goes away when brake is applied.
So the wear indicator sound is heard while NOT braking?

In either case, the manual indicates that, at first, the sound will be intermittent.

The manual says the opposite:

"When the brake pads need replacing,
you will hear a distinctive metallic
‘screeching’ sound when you apply
the brakes."
