Sorry little mistake,

We took delivery of our 01 SS EX about two months ago and we just drive it "normal".
If I remenber correctly, the owners manual says not to tow or accelerate at full throttle for the first 1000km. We have about 3000km and the dealer says they won't change the oil until 7500km. Bottom line with any break in, is not to "push it" for the first 1000 or so km. But, when I bought my Jetta, they told me to push it and push it hard even from the begining, or else she'll run whimpy. More importantly, use common sense.
p.s. Which Crappy Tire are you near?

Break-in period. For at least the first 3000 miles do not rev hard, over 4000 rpms on a regular basis. The engine's seals and parts are not conditioned to the stress. The break-in period will help the engine last longer and run smoother in the long run. You can occasionally rev. hard for merging and emergency situations but keep it minimal for at least the first 3000 miles or even till 7500 miles, the first oil change.

I thought it's more complicate then those.
What about breaking(slowing down). Don't I have to be really gentle?

Joe V: Hwy 7 and Weston Rd.I can walk there in 5 min.

Don't forget what the manual says to vary your driving speed. Don't want to do constant 65 MPH on the freeway during your break in period. Postpone that driving vacation trip until after the break in or take lots of rest stops if you must.

wow. How fast do you drive?

Cool! We live pretty close.
My parents and I just pick up the van today at 4:30 pm (Number 7 Honda) and went straight to the garage.
Too bad it was rainning, we couldn't enjoyed.
I was gonna wash and wax as soon as I get home but it's gonna rain for another 4-5 days. Damn.
