Buying out of state (any disadvantages?)

1313 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  jvennitti
We live near a state line and were wondering if it is much of a hassle to buy out of state. Would we have to do extra paperwork or what would it involve that we wouldn't have to do if we stayed in our own state?

Thanks for your seasoned advice!

I bought over the state line in Ohio (I live in PA). The dealer there gets alot of PA customers and he took care of everything. All I had to do was get the vehicle state inspected within a week or two...

Did you save some money, under MSRP? I'm in OH here, so I would drive to the hills to save some bucks.

Actually I bought a Saturn Wagon in Ohio. It was a better deal than I could get in Pittsburgh. My Honda dealer has a sister dealership in Ohio, so if they have the van on the lot in Ohio, they'll bring it over to PA just to save you some extra travel...
