Can U turn off ECO indicator light?

11433 Views 6 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  chipbutty24
After looking through the owners manual I can't find any indication I can turn off the Fuel Economy Indicator light. I find myself focusing more attention on keeping the light active than on the cars around me. For some stupid reason it is like a video game/gas conservation habit that make me uncomfortable. I would love to disable it. Am I out of luck or is it deep in some settings I have not found?

Thanks

I saw this and HAD to look. The title in the forum list said "EMO" (versus the bold print on the post title, that said "ECO").

I don't know if you can disable this light aside from removing the bulb from the cluster. I'm still chuckling over the possibilities:

"Uh, honey, that EMO indicator light is lighting up again."
"Awrahht, missy, lemme see (dad turning around to glare at kids)....okay, who's trying to grow their hair "emo-style" and part it to one side to cover one eye? I ain't puttin' up with that 5h1t, and "emo" kids cutting on themselves with nail clippers or dull pocket knives to show how "emo-tional" they are. Why, if I want something to be "emo", it needs to be the front lawn. That way, it can cut itself."

Sorry, massive topic drift from one of the forum smart-donkeys (me).

hahaha

I find myself looking at it more than I'd like as well. Just do a 1 hour trip in it like I just did and you start to not look at it anymore.
Duct tape never fails, not even the NEMO light gets spared

But in all seriousness, you get used to ignore it, give it some time
I must be blind as all I see is ECO. No NEMO and no EMO. What am I missin?

:D :stupid: :heh:

To answer your question of what your missing "Dvpatel"

I originally mistyped the topic as EMO instead of ECO. I'd love to say it was an clever joke but it was simply a mistake while using my Iphone to post. I immediately edited and fixed the problem but the Forum must have a REALLY long delay to update the main listing....like hours long delay. So it was an amusing technical glitch due in part to my horrible typing skills.
I play that game too. "How long can I keep the ECO light on?" I also watch the MPG dealy too. I remember when I used to just care about going fast. Comes with the minivan territory I guess. Can you sue for getting into an accident while paying attention to these? What about all those distracted driver laws? Can the cops ticket you for watching your ECO light like they can if you're on a cell?
