Cargo liner

I actually have a rather elaborate liner that I put in the back of my van to carry the llamas with. But it can also come in handy for construction material or firewood or other stuff you'd prefer not to get on the carpet. Anyway, the 'hatchbag' from Omaha Vaccine covers the floor and the sides. Try www.omahavaccine.com and search for hatchbag. Assuming they have a model for the Odyssey, it seems to be a bargain at $120. Gray only, though

Actually, it is not clear what this covers. The illustration is of a large wagon and it looks like it covers the cargo area. Having one that covers everything but the front seats is what I have and what I was thinking of for building materials and the like. For a dog, I guess what you'd want is to cover everything behind the 2nd row.

Llary,

The "hatchbag" is even better than a full length cargo mat-since it covers the sides of the cargo area as well, I can throw just about anything in the back and not worry about scratching up the trim. Thanks for the great find-I think I will call them Monday and order one for my Ody.

Keep us posted on how it fits and works in an Ody, that's an interesting product.

I just got off the phone with Omaha Vaccine, who were very helpful and put me in contact with the Hatchbag company for more info. After talking to Hatchbag and getting all the info from both outfits, I decided to report back to the group. There are two Hatchbag models that fit the Odyssey:

Omaha p/n 28891-DS (Hatchbag p/n 7503): covers from rear to second seat, including sides and rear of second seats (Llarry, this sounds like the one you have)

Omaha p/n 28893-DS (Hatchbag p/n 7506): covers entire rear cargo area from rear door to front seats, including sides and the backs of the front seats (this is the one I want for my Ody).

Shipping from Omaha Vaccine is $8.49 for purchases above $80 (aparently to anywhere in the lower 48 states), and they also offer a $5 "first order" discount that helps the pocketbook a bit.

Both the Omaha and the Hatchbag folks were super helpful, and Hatchbag said they would need about 10 days to make up the full size cover-they actually used an Odyssey to develop the pattern, so this is a true custom product. Once the cover is made up it is drop shipped from Hatchbag in North Carolina, so there is no additional delay to ship the product to the distributor. There is a photo of the cover inside some sort of SUV at the URL in the message above, but I could not find a pic of one in a minivan. Anyway, I will be ordering mine tomorrow-this is just the thing I need to keep the Christmas tree sap off the sides of my Ody's cargo area. If you decide to order either of these covers, you will need to give them both numbers-Omaha uses the Hatchbag p/n to actually place the order for you. I didn't bother trying to find alternate sources for this product because I was so impressed with the quality of the telephone service, but I imagine that they are available.

Now that I think of it, If there is enough interest, we might want to consider a group buy for this item-this is a "must have" for me, and I imagine that there are a few others that plan to use the more utilitarian aspects of their Ody as well. I would be willing to try to negotiate some sort of discount if there is interest-a Zaino type discount code or coupon would be the easiest, since everyone would then be able to order their covers individually. Jim F., if there is interest, I will need to talk to you on the mechanics of setting up this type of group discount program. Well, that's all for now.

Hi odyfox! I was wondering if you had received your Hatchbag and how it's working out for you? How's the fit in your Ody?

Looked on the hatchbag web site and they show the full size version for the ODY as $175.00. check it out, maybe I missed something. Looks like great product. I wonder how well it folds up when not in use.

I haven't gotten around to ordering mine, partly because I'm overwhelmed with my other mods (I now have a wood/leather steering wheel to install along with my other stuff), but I also wanted to see if there was enough interest for me to try to arrange for a group purchase. Maybe I will post something in the Group Buy forum and see what happens. I know I will eventually get the cover, but if I can save a few bux, I will like it even more!

Tom,

This price is higher than what Omaha quoted me-I wonder if the prices have gone up? I don't see a part number on the Hatchbag site, so I can't tell if it is the same item that I got my information on from Hatchbag and Omaha. I will verify which is the correct price before I post anything in the Group Buy forum.

Could be that hatchbag is the manufacturer and sells at list only. I saw $145.00 for the small version (second row in place) and $175.00 for the large (second row seats removed). Omaha could be a discount distributor so your prices could be correct. It does look like we can buy direct on line from the hatchbag site. Maybe they will come down in price a little for a group buy.
