CENTER BRAKE LIGHT QUESTION

Check your center brake lights everyone. Mine is out big time. Base of bulb and socket melted, bulb expanded somehow so it will not come out of lens through hole. No Jerry, there is no indicator on the dash for a bulb problem.

Thanks for the input nds, that's why i see a
lot of ody's high mount brake light out.
So the indicator is only for the right and left side.

If your car is still under warranty, the dealer should be able to fix it for free. For some reason the 3rd center brake light is considered a "safety" item, in the same way as Seat belts, and air bags. But the other lights on your car are considered "wear" items, similar to tires, and brakes. Go figure, its how the DOT passed the measure. BTW...most dealers do not know about this rule, and will argue with you for the cost.

The only reason I know this is because it was my duty, while I used to work for Ford's Customer Care Division, that we had to make sure all Ford personel, and dealer staff were up to date on the warranty guidelines.
