Hi all!!! Just found this site and thought someone might be able to give me some ideas on buying an Odyssey in Central Pa. Does anyone know of any good and reliable dealerships in this area (State College) or anywhere in the central PA area? Any ideas on pricing in this area? Thanks in advance.

Just took delivery of a ‘02 LX from Frederick Dodge Honda in Hershey PA. Dealt with Dennis Webber who did all he could to help with the sale. Dennis can be reached at 717.533.6060. Went to 2 other dealers in the area, Falkner and Bobby Rahal and they did not want to really work with me regarding my trade, nor with some basic options, thus I went with Frederick.

In all dealerships, MSRP was the name of the game, although Frederick through in the keyless entry and gave us a discount on the roof rack as well. In addition, we worked through a local source to install leather at a reasonable cost.

The only downfall with Frederick is that they are the smallest of the 3 Honda dealers listed. And because of this their allocations and potential delivery may be a little longer than the rest. We placed our order at the end of November and took delivery on January 25th, all in all not bad. I will give Frederick credit regarding delivery. They were upfront with us regarding their allocation and told us they may be a little longer then the rest. In the end I think this helped because they through in a few things and the also got me the van in around 8 weeks.

Finally, I purchased my 6 CD changer from Dalt’s Honda in Canada and Frederick was nice enough to install it at no charge.

You may find a better deal out there today, and I encourage you to check all your options, but from my experience I would recommend Frederick. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Wow, another central PA person!

We are expecting our 02 SS EX later in February at Dix Honda in State College. This will be the 5th Honda from this dealer. Expect MSRP for pricing, but we have been satisfied with the service.

The downside around here is that there are no other dealers close by unless you go to Lock Haven or Altoona. I would rather deal local because of service issues.

What model are you looking for? In Western PA my dealer has a sister dealership just over the OH line and they have 2 LX and 1 EX in stock.

Warranty work will be performed at any dealership (they get paid by Honda).

It could be worth a 3 hour trip, vs. a 3 month wait... During the month of Jan they were selling at $400 under MSRP.

If you want more info, let me know

Thanks. I was hoping someone might be able to give me some info on Dix Honda. I would rather buy local, but still need a good deal. Do your kids play in Centre soccer? I have a 5 and 8 y.o. that play. Thanks again for the info.

I've purchased 2 new Honda's from Dix Honda. I got a great deal for the 1999 Accord. I got a so-so deal for the 2003 Element.

I've found that thier list price for parts are consistently higher than "list" price indicated on H-and-A. However, a smile and an informed conversation tends to get those lowered to a tolerable level.
