Got a Situation here! Earlier this week my charging system light popped on. I went grabbed the volt meter . The meter read under 12 volts. I am getting ready to change out the alternator in the AM. So I thought I would test the battery with the volt meter again this evening. The meter read over 13 volts with out anything on in the van. I got a little excited thinking I would not have to swap out the alternator. I went ahead and turned on lights, radio and front and back AC. the meter then read right under 12volts. Could this still be a bad Alternator or something else?

Has anyone had this kind of problem?

Go down to your local Autozone etc., they will test BOTH the battery + Alt for free.

I am using the Duralast Battery from Autozone (my Honda OEM factory battery died at 37K).
