If your check engine light comes on, first step in the manual is to check that the gas cap is on tight. Made me immediately feel a lot better reading that, since I know my wife never screws the cap on anything tight. Sure enough, that appears to be what the problem was.

I had the same problem-but did not reset itself once the gas cap was tightened within 3 trips so had to take it to the dealer. They confirmed that's what it was and reset the computer. Not sure why it didnt reset-but they said pulling the battery would reset it in a pinch.

I think the owner's manual states you should hear 'three clicks' while tightening the gas cap.

The manual also states how to reset the light yourself.

I think it's something like this:

1) Press and HOLD the trip odometer/reset button.
2) Turn on the ignition
3) Continue holding the reset button for about ten seconds, or so.

That's it.

Wrong light ... those are the instructions for the "Service" light.
