2001 EX with 4,000 miles. Around 1,000 miles started hearing a "clank" when coming to an abrupt stop or start. It is a definite metal-to-metal bang (not very loud, but very noticable). After FOUR trips to the dealer, they "fixed" the problem. The problem, as explained, was the strut welds causing the struts to shift slightly under those pressures. The noise indeed was gone after the last trip, but now at 4,000 miles the noise is back.

Has anyone else had this problem? I am very frustrated and need recommendations. The vehicle is absolutely great, but it shouldn't be making these noises... ever!

Under-car sounds can sometimes manifest themselves far from their sources. Do you have a trailer hitch? Certain makes/models of hitch may bang against the tailpipe. I'd also get them to check for loose heat shields or hangers on the exhaust system. Although you'd expect to hear rattles along with the bang, the Odyssey is so well soundproofed these sounds may not be readily apparent unless you're window is rolled down.
