My 2000 EX has had the lamp go out on the clock on the dashboard above the heater controls. Has anyone replaced the light? Does the unit just pop out? I don't want to scratch it up if it doesn't. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
my light just went out also. i bought the part from honda for $4.00 and it was about a ten minute job to install.

pull out the radio and hvac control bezel with a thin flathead screwdriver and your fingers. remove the phillips head screws below the clock and above the gauge cluster. pull the clock assembly out far enough to locate the white back of the clock bulb on the passenger side. the bulb screws out with a stubby phillips screwdriver and goes in the same. re-install all parts and your done.

The clock light on my '99 (6/99) went out recently (27k miles). I went to the dealer today for a replacement and the guy in parts said he recollected something about the clock lights (as if there was a service bulletin or something) and said I should speak to a service rep. I did and he seemed evasive about it and said the fix was to replace the bulb. Seems way too early to burn out IMHO. Just replaced it but it's so dim anyway, in daylight can't tell if it is working now.
followed "fordsdad"'s instructions and replaced the lamp in less than 10 minutes. The lamp cost $3.20. What a great website!!! and thank you "fordsdad".
My clock light stopped working recently also.
I know the bulb is cheap and the job will take only 10 minutes of my time, but wouldn't this be covered by the warranty. I think I could wait until the next time I take the car in for an oil change.
