Clunk and jerking at low speed

I bought a 2015 EX model last year and been experiencing the clunk and jerking problem with the the transmission. I first brought it to a local Honda dealership where they performed the 3 times flush and computer update. Didn't solve the issue. After going back a couple of times they said something was wrong with the transmission and replaced it. The van drove perfectly in the summer, but now that the weather is getting cold again( I live in Canada). , its starting to jerk and clunk again at low speeds. Anyone have any suggestions, besides going back to dealer. Thanks

could be pressure switch issue, not bad enough to throw a code but enough to create issues when driving.

its possible some of the electronic components on the old transmission, were transferred over to the new transmission.
which is why your problem has returned.

could also be temperature sensor related, are you noticing it more when the vehicle is cold and less when warmed up?
Thanks for the reply. I notice when its cold. I did feel it once when coming off the highway, slowing down when coming off the off ramp and then accelerating. Almost like it was stuck in 1st or 2nd gear.

questionable pressure switches will cause issues downshifting.

check out this thread see if it matches your problem.

another one I found doing advanced search.
I've got a 2014 EXL and it has been doing that for 120,000 miles. I took it into the dealership and they did the update to the computer. Mine would, and still does occasionally slam into a lower gear most often when coasting off the freeway and coming almost to a stop and then accelerating. I've also done several transmission fluid drain & fills. I think this is unfortunately a 'normal' condition of this vehicle.

Thanks for all the tips. I think I will try changing those pressure switches to see if it fixes the problem. Will update once done.
although firing parts at a problem is not ideal, transmission pressure switches are sort of a grey area when it comes to troubleshooting.

always good to have a known working good one to test with.
Just finished replacing the switch. Followed the instructions on the video, wasn't as hard as I thought. Will drive it for awhile and update.

Been testing for a couple of weeks now and thought issue had been resolved, unfortunately the jerking started happening again. Feels like its happening more when trying to go into 2nd geaf. Maybe needed to change the 2nd one instead of 3rd.

There's nothing "grey" about transmission pressure switches. They're ON or OFF. It's as easy as that. Not sure why you would say that and send him to that thread or suggest he change them when they weren't setting a code. If they don't switch on or off when they're supposed to they will set a code. Besides, with a scan tool they're easy to troubleshoot if you can get to the connector.

MrRangerZr1 had a similar issue, the video linked was for the poster to confirm the issue was similar to his, and either run with it or come back for discussion.

have experienced weak pressure switch issue on my last gen odyssey, that was solved by replacement.
NO CODES

Respectfully, if you want to be the hero in this solution suggest you be involved from the start.

I don't need to be a hero. Suggesting changing a pressure switch when there is no indication to do so is a waste of time and money. Again, if the switch doesn't close (turn on) when it's supposed to it will set a code immediately.

agree with your original statement on the lack of details to investigate, and was attempting to help with limited knowledge on the subject.

used to work at a OEM transmission rebuild shop, and can stumble along on the topic.
😅

Lets see what the shop that has yet to resolve this issue, comes back with.
Went to transmission shop today, mechanic scanned the van, no codes showed up. A message did appear on display where kms usually are displayed saying " check battery sensor". They cleaned battery terminal and connector that connects sensor. Everything seemed to be ok. Went for an extensive test drive with mechanic, could not get it to jerk or clunk. Will have to keep driving to see if it does it again. Have a feeling it will happen again.

doubtful as well...
usually you get weird PCM errors with a bad terminal connections, but heck anything is possible!

I noticed on my stock terminals the other day with a one year old agm battery, the positive terminal was wiggling if you grabbed it firmly, so installed a terminal shim previously recommended by John Clark.
got a pack of 6 off amazon for around 10 bux.

They work awesome.

There is no "usual" effect of dirty or loose battery terminals. Every vehicle is different and every loose connection is different. I've seen everything from PCM errors to sliding doors that don't work, due to battery terminal issues. I've seen sliding door problems even when the van starts just fine. Lots of things can be affected by a loose or dirty battery terminal on these modern cars.

Keeping an eye on it. Unfortunately, still jerking a bit when temperature drops, below 10celsius.🤷‍♂️
