Control relative volume of Handsfreelink prompts

Hi,

We have new 2009 Touring. I find that the prompts volume for HFL is very high, so I'm constantly lowering when dealing with it, and then having to raise volume to have a conversation and/or listen to radio.

I've searched manual(s) and forums, but no one's discussed any control for this prompt volume that I saw. Is there a way to control (or just lower) the booming from that prompt voice?

BTW, my father-in-law bought an EX-L RES+NAV at same time, and his relative prompt volume is just fine...

So no one has suggestions on separately controlling the Hands Free Link prompt volume?

I guess I'll have to call Honda or go in to see dealer... When the volume level is good for conversation, the prompts are really way too loud... and it's distracting to always remember to lower it before and after the actual call. Might even be considered "unsafe" for some...

I found that the iPhone has a volume level control specific to each bluetooth device. So when you're in the call (talking to someone using Handsfree) then you can use the side buttons on the iPhone to maximize their volume. It was same for my wife's Samsung phone.

When the speaker volume level for conversation is higher, then you can reduce the Handsfree volume level with the steering wheel or radio control to a more reasonable level. Interesting, that Handsfree volume control is also only available during use and I think it's different for each device. And then you don't get blasted with the Navi lady's voice.

Problem is/was that that volume level controls not available until you're in the call, so setting my other volume levels high/low did not help.

So you've been able to lower the prompts to reasonable levels while retaining an audible conversation level? The prompts are way to loud for me even after raising my iphone bluetooth all the way high. The Odyssey still blasts me and my kids' ears. Frustrating.

I bought a used 2011 and am having the same issue, and it’s a REAL problem. Every time my phone rings or I try to make a call or use navigation, the sounds and voice prompts are blasting loud, so bad it hurts my ear drums and sets my heart beating erratically- especially when unexpected. Definitely not safe. It actually gives me a headache. I can’t find any way to adjust it. I just want to turn it off, but I also really want to be able to use Bluetooth for playing music. I know this is an old post and an old system, but I’m still wondering if anyone’s found a solution to this problem.

On my phone I can adjust the Bluetooth volumes for each attached device. Just like Khansari posted in #4 above.
