A neighbor compiled a couple old VHS movies for me onto a DVD (the tapes were degrading, and I didn't want to lose them). Lo and behold, these copies played fine on my 03 Ody system.

I don't know if they would do as well (or better) on the 06 Ody. I have another neighbor with an 05, and will try this next time I seem them.

For sure. I'm copying every movie from original DVD to DVD-R and have no issues.
I've been having off-and-on success with copying my dvds. Can you tell me what name brand of blank DVD-R you are using.

I copy the movies and they play fine on my home DVD player, but some will not play in my 06 ODY

I have no success with Maxell DVD-r, and some success with Sony and TDK DVD-R.

Thanks

If you are copying the DVD's on a DVD recorder make sure you "Finalize" them. Otherwise they will only play on certain players. Once Finalized they should play on any player.

Yes. I've never had problems playing any DVD-R discs in either of the factory RES in the Ody or my Sequoia. With so many car break-ins around here, I only keep backups in my vehicle.
