Anyone know what is the optimal dimensions? I uploaded a few JPGs and along with one being upside down a few were in need of cropping and/or re-orienting. Wondering if anyone has messed with this at all.

Thanks!

I haven't actually done it yet - my van is currently in the tow hitch installation hell at the dealer - so take my opinion with a grain of salt :) The manual specifies a minimum size of 480x234 and a maximum size of 1920x936, both suggesting the exact same aspect ratio of 16:7.8. The native resolution of the screen is 1280x720, with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The difference in aspect ratio is that the wallpaper does not cover the shortcut/status bar at the top. Using the 16:7.8 aspect ratio, the ideal wallpaper should be exactly 1280x624, that way no scaling (up or down) will be needed and you will get the best results.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the proper dimensions. Just got my 18 yesterday so I created this template to help placing the pictures around the clock. I have the .psd photoshop file with layers if anyone wants it. I could not upload it here because it is over 1 MB????

It appears that custom clock faces are limited to the digital clock and can not be used with the analog style. Maybe I am not doing something right.

Anyone have problems doing this? I resized a jpg file to the dimensions listed above, and when I add the files, it says they are transferred, but nothing is ever actually transferred. If I go to File Manager, nothing is there. I've tried formatting the USB drive and trying again, but no luck. Any advice?

I was able to get this to work today.
Needs to be FAT32 formatted.
I would recommend not having another other files on the USB flash drive other than the images you want to transfer - this shouldn't be a requirement but it prevent the system for trying to check other files which would not work with the van.
Dimensions should be 1920x936 - if you have something different it would never show me the screen to select some or all files, but just spin trying to transfer the files.
I would limit the size of each file to <400kB if you can - that should be plenty of quality and not too much for the system to deal with.
Format I used was .jpg
