The lower power outlet near the floor on the front dash came loose and stopped working. I read on some posts that the shroud can come loose and cause a short.

The short shut down the radio and the code won't come up to get the radio working. I've put the outlet pieces back together, taped up the power outlet wire, but the code still won't show on the radio.

I've checked the fuse for the radio and the interior lights an it's okay. I am stumped...how do I fix this? Any help you can provide would be great!

Dumb question maybe, but do you have power to the DC outlet?

This would be a good fact to know before going further.

Do you have power to the rear outlet?

There are 2 fuses is the DC outlet circuit, one being #8 in the drivers side fuse panel, the other bing #9 in the passenger side under dash fuse/relay box. There is also a relay in this box for the circuit. This part of the circuit also continues to the Audio system, so I would check all the fuses and the relay.

Hope this helps
