If this is true, then this rocks! I meant to mention the other day that I noticed this in my van as well...if I keep it somewhere between 45 & 55 mph, I can definitely hear the grind...although its pretty low.

I'll be interested to hear further about this one.

I called Honda Cust Relations this am. They told me that this was a "fix in progress" and that a new PCM was being developed that they hoped would fix the tranny noise. They advised that a few owners are being contacted to test the new PCM and if it works, all Ody owners will be notified of a fix. Hope so.... my 2000 EX has had this noise from day one and it bugs me.

I do not understand the reference to "dieseling". Dieseling, as it relates to gasoline engines, is usually the engine continuing to run after the ignition switch is turned off. With the advent of the fuel injected engines, the problem disappeared, since fuel distribution to the engine ceases when the key is turned off. What does Honda say is going on to cause the noise? A cure is always fine, but, it does not hurt to know what one is curing.
