How many of you knew that the rear brakes on the 2002 Ody are actually discs AND drum brakes in one. The parking brake is a standard-looking set of brake shoes that run inside the hub of the disk brake rotor!

I'd never seen that design before.

GM has been doing this for a few years already. I've never had any problems with mine. Hopefully my Ody will perform just as well.

We have 3 cars in the family - the other two are a '92 Volvo 940 and a '01 BMW 330i. Both those have exactly the same rear disk/drum setup as well.

Ok, just kinda surprised at it. My Integra just uses the discs. Don't precisely understand the mechanism, but I think it is strictly mechanical, no hydraulics involved at all.
