Hello,
I've been owning my 2008 Odyssey EXL for the past 6.5 years and never have I seen a maintenance minder show up.

I have 51K miles now and have been changing oil regulary. Did a transmission/brake/coolant fluid change once. Changed tires once, front brakes once. But haven't received any minders so far.

I was planning to take it for a B12 service this weekend even without the minder. Am I doing the right thing or can I rely on my Odyssey to tell me if it needs a service?

Thanks.

What do you mean you have "never seen a mm show up"? Are you resetting the mm every time you change oil? If so, during the reset process you can see what the code is for that service as it shows it briefly while you are holding the button down.

Me thinks they take the Oddy in every 3 or 5K miles and hence they never see the actual MM pop up. But pure speculation on my part.

I change oil when it gets down to 20%. After the change, I reset it to 100%. But I have not seen a minder showing up that says I need a certain service to be done.

This^^^^^^^^^. If you do an oil change like I do at 5000kms or 50% and reset the computer back to 100% for the oil change, you will not get any other maintenance reminders.

How about fluid exchanges? Have you done brake/transmission etc? I did that once even though there was no minder.
My 2006 EXL-RES only has 72000 kms on it. No brake maintenance of any kind done to it yet. As for transmission oil, I had it changed at 48000 kms. Not one problem wrong with it yet that isn't recall related.

True, but during the reset process it will show you what was due. Once you are at the MM % when you push the button and hold it to reset it the code for the next service shows.
