Hi,

I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey with somewhat of a strange problem. The drivers side sliding door will not open with the keyfob, remote, or door handle. However, the door can be closed by holding down the button after manually opening it and pulling it all the way back to the stopper. But the button has to be held down the entire time and it seems as if it moves slower than the passenger side which is fully functional. Electrical issue somewhere? The door contacts(where door meets pillar) are somewhat broken, but, I was unsure if that was the issue since on my other van the open switch can be pressed at any time no matter what position the door is in. Have tried pulling fuses with no luck.

Could this be electrical or mechanical? If so, where should I start looking?

Thanks,
Joe

Hello,

I was wondering if you ever found a fix for this? My 1999 Odyssey is exhibiting similar symptoms where the door will not open at all. But it will close only by holding down the dash button and it does seem slower than the other side.

My slider door on my 1999 Odyssey started working again once I pulled the CLOCK fuse out and put it back in after 30 seconds (which is located near passenger floorboard side panel). I know it sounds odd, but I did this 'trick' in 2013, and it has been working ever since again!! Go figure, but hoping it will work for someone else here, too. :)
