Guess it worked...

First pic is with all lights off, daylight, in the garage.

Second pic is with the DRL on, same conditions

Third is with both HIDs on, about 5 minutes running

Last pic is with the High Beams on (DRL bulb on full power)

@ mugenintegra16 - were you looking for pics of the fogs with the HIDs on? If so, the pic may have been posted. the color you may be looking for would be a 35Watt 3000K. Doing them in 55 Watt may "wash" out the color a bit, and the fog housings may not handle the extra heat of the 55 Watts.

@ richysh - Yes I did swap them out. I used 55 Watt ballasts and a wiring harness directly connected to the battery. I then used the signal feed to the original ballasts to "switch" the new ballasts "on". I used new HID bulbs that came with the new kit and put away the ones that came with the Elite.

Hope this helps...

Wow nice job. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you? And also, do you notice a big improvement over the OEM 35watt kit?

Nice! What brand bulbs did you use for the 3000K DRL bulbs?

@ manfrotto - i just used some cheapo brand that was a 100 Watt bulb. i was simply going for the look, as I have plenty of light at this point from my 55 Watt HIDs. The product I got off of ebay at 9005 Xenon Yellow Light Bulbs | eBay

@ richysh - For me I really did notice a difference, as the Honda HID projectors are so well designed and built, giving us such a nice strong cut-off. When I first did the upgrade, I took a pic of the stock 35 Watt 4500 K HID versus the 55 Watt 6000 K kit from DDM Tuning based out of San Diego. I have since lost that pic, as I had a laptop die on me and those pics were on it in a temp folder. This is only a subjective analysis, but i feel I got a much whiter light, further throw at night, and about a 20 to 25% increase in light. The cost for the 55 Watt digital slim kit was $50 and I believe it is still going for that price.

Hmm price is not an issue for me but I'm just wondering if it's worth the money haha. Is your OEM ballast still on the car then?

Yes, it is. Still factory mounted, just disconnected. i mounted my new ballasts in a different location not too far away. I did it that way, so that if I needed to switch back, I could literally do the conversion back in a matter of half hour or less....

Thanks for the explanations, artkwan. Would you mind posting a photo of this multiple ballast situation in your engine compartment? Was wondering how it'd all play out in general because I'm considering either an after-market HID mod or retrofitting with the OEM HID parts from Honda. Am wondering where the ballasts are. Thanks!

Hey there manfrotto - I will do my best to get pics this weekend, pending on scheduling. Been really slammed with work lately! I will work on it and post pics when I get a chance....:)

The DRL's on the 2011, also the 2008+ Oddy look Goofy.. like GM's 1990's ones.. Pull the fuse and be done with it, LOL! In the USA it's not mandated nor a law so this can be done.

HID Install w/4300K kit from XenonDepot/KBCarstuff

Hi all,
I just installed my HID conversion kit this past weekend and thought it would help to post how easy it was to do. This is my second time doing this. My last one was on my '06 ody touring. This time is on a '11 Ody Touring. Both times I've used the XenonDepot.com / KBcarstuff's kits and have never had any issue with them and both cases installed them within 90 mins. Since others have already posted pics of the outside, I just put together what it takes on the inside / under the hood to install. Enjoy!

Pics look great! Do you know if you can replace the daylight running light bulb for a brighter halogen version? I'd like to change mine out if possible.
I believe the DRL and your high beam is the same--- I don't think you would use high beam MOST of the time. The best solution is to put some decent HID kits in your low beam.

here are some pics of my light output Flickr: jastorg1's Photostream

dont mind the other pics..:p
