Our dealer called today and said they have an EXL ready (we had asked for EXL-RES) if we want it. I assume it is tricky to add the factory system. Are any of the aftermarket systems easy to install? Do they integrate well with the factory sound system?

The factory system is pretty darn well integrated. And for $1500....

Admit it--you just don't want to wait for your car!

Hey Chris,
I believe the RES is only a factory installed option. So, IVES is the Honda option, but only comes with VCP to date. Kinda pricey at ~$1,200-$1300.
There have been many many aftermarket systems installed and discussed in this forum. Arguably the easiest is the Traveltheater, which is a wireless (at least signal) system. Ask Marv (nyvram) about this as he was the last to install it. Screen just requires two small holes in the headliner, a couple of power connections, the rest mounts below a seat very easily. It uses a RF transmitter for signals and has built in speakers. Downside is that it is 6.8" 4:3 format only, not optimal if DVD is your primary intended use.
Lots of other choices out there, it really depends on what you consider "easy". As far as integrating to factory, as Adam said, the factory integration is great. Not sure about the '02, but for models before, an FM modulator has been the prefered way of integrating to factory, since the head unit does not have an audio input dedicated to RES or the like.
