I purchased a GG-EX three weeks. I have heard the engine knocking when I push the gas pedal. At first, I though the problem was due to the low Octan gas which dealer put to the car at deliver. However, I still hear the engine knocking after I putting the super unlead gas to my car. Is any one experiencing the same problem?

Also, my Odyssey back door is hard to be closed. I need to slam the door very hard in order to close it. In contrast, my MPV back door can be closed easily without any effort. Is it normal for Odyssey?

Any input regarding the above two issues will be appreicated.

Thanks!

Hi, Tom. The door problem is easy. There are two rubber bumpers, one at each lower corner of the hatch, that adjust by screwing them in and out a little bit in the appropriate direction.

When the door is properly adjusted, it should close easily when pushed down to within about a foot or so of the latch. Just let inertia finish closing it. The metal at the back of the hatch is very thin and many have been dented by trying to push the hatch to engage the latch. Be careful.

Oh, by the way, if you have any problems with any of the other doors, they all have the screw-in bumpers and they all work the same way.

Your engine shouldn't knock. If different fuel doesn't take care of the problem, have the dealer look at it.

Good luck.

Tom, No engine knocking with my 02 Ody. The back hatch is very easy to close. I'll let you know if I experience any of the problems that you mentioned.

Thank you for the input. I will try to adjust the door stop this weekend. For the engine knocking issue, I might want to spend little bit more time to observe the engine performance. So far, I only get 700 miles from the Odyssey. I am happy with the power but the wind noise seem lounder than I expected.

Thanks!

Tom
