I've had the pleasure of owning both and though Valentine One has the directional arrows and a very high sensitivity alert to the K band, after a year of constant false alarms going off, it became annoying... to the extent of myself just tuning out the beeps.

Later i opted for the Escort 9500ix and was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. It tunes out the false alarms by learning itself the false alerts just after a few passes. Was pretty impressed. Also it is gps based so you can upload data onto the detector so it gives alerts to updated areas of speed traps, red light cameras, construction zone safety areas, etc.

After owning a Valentine for 6 or so years, i have replaced it with the Escort and asides from the directional arrows i haven't looked back. my main gripe with Valentine One is that they never upgraded much with other detector companies that have advanced now to gps. that is the future for all detectors.

what are ur preferences and why?

I don't own both but one big annoyance is my touring elite triggers my V1 with the blind spot sensors.
I don't own both, so I can't compare.
