Hi,

I have 2012 Touring and an escort 9500ix radar detector. I bought something from radio shack to split telephone wires. I grabbed the 3 cables connected to the mirror, and found the power (green) and neutral (black) wires. Then I took an old telephone cable, cut it and joined it up. The detector fires up, but my wife said that as soon as it went off when it spotted a smokey, it looks like the DVD reset. (Or all the electronics). Could that be a wiring problem, or maybe too much draw by the device?

Anyone have any tips on how to wire it up?

why dont you get a hardwire from Escort or ebay?

Thanks, but the splitter from radio shack worked. That first reset was a possibly something unrelated.
