So the evaporator on my 95 Ody died. I want to replace it myself and I'm wondering if there's anything special I should know before I start tearing apart. I am very good at working with the car but I've never messed with A/C components. Since the freon is pretty much completely leaked out, I plan to disconnect and replace the evaporator. Later I can have the system recharged.

Obviously, I am purchasing a new evaporator. What else should I replace while I am doing this ?? valve, seals, etc.. ??

Thanks for the help !!

If the expansion valve has never been replaced, I recommend replacing that as well. It is bolted to the evaporator inlet. When it fails you will have rear AC only. If you search the forum you'll see that it is a fairly common failure on the 1st gens.
