How can I tell if a 95 odyssey is a LX or EX? Is there an easy way to tell?
Won't running the VIN number on CarFax or AutoCheck will be the easiest? Sometimes, even LX have sunroofs and it is pretty easy to modify just about anything in the LX to make it closer to EX. Even EX can be converted to aftermarket leather seats to make them look like they are EX-L.Easiest way is if it has a sunroof then it is an EX.
this is the easiest way. an ex comes with 15 inch alloy wheels and painted side moldings but these can be changed on an lx. the ex has power height adjusting drivers seat as well. I think but could be wrong, that the ex comes with tweets under the small grills in the dash where the lx has none under the grills.Easiest way is if it has a sunroof then it is an EX.
The LX did not come from the factory with a sunroof, not even as an option. The sunroof on the EX is made of metal, not glass. There are no aftermarket sunroofs that are made of metal to the best of my knowledge. So if it has a sunroof made of metal that slides up over the roof then 99.9% chance it is an EX. If it has no sunroof or any kind of glass sunroof, then 99% chance it is an LX. We won't get into the EX mod of replacing the metal sunroof with a glass one from a Civic. Extremely rare mod.Won't running the VIN number on CarFax or AutoCheck will be the easiest? When I bought my Accord '03 LX, they had the same designations. DX still existed then. Also, I remember that in Canada (got family there), the EX-L was being used as the model trim, long before they started using it here in the USA for Hondas.Over the last 30+ years in the U.S. Honda has used a basic model level designation of DX, LX, and EX. A few models here and there have skipped the DX designation such as the Odyssey and CR-V. The DX denotes the lower end for a model and the EX the higher end. For example the Accord DX traditionally would be bare bones with no power locks, windows nor cruise control. The LX would come with power locks, windows, cruise and ABS as an option. (We are talking 90s models here) Then the EX would have all the LX extras plus alloy rims, sunroof and ABS standard as well as a better sound system. Things have changed some now since all the safety features come on all the model levels just about.
Most likely that was a dealer installed option. Not from the factory. Many dealers will have a local shop install leather seats. I had a '99 CR-V with dealer installed leather. Never was an option from the factory in '99 for the CR-V.No. Mine is an ex and it has leather seats from the dealer. 95.
As for the Odysseys, both LX and EX models have 4 wheel disk brakes and ABS. Very cool. So you are not getting more safety features on the EX, just more accessories.I would assume that an EX came with rear disc brakes where as the LX came with drums. Correct me if I am incorrect.
1 of reasons I love these vans!As for the Odysseys, both LX and EX models have 4 wheel disk brakes and ABS. Very cool. So you are not getting more safety features on the EX, just more accessories.
