Strangely, my 2002 ex-res has a problem with its right power sliding door. it'll close to about 1/4 inch of fully closed and will then stop. one then continues to hear to "whirr" of the locking mechanism trying to engage. my fix (and i don't know why it worked) was to press the nine or so "plungers" on the door-frame locking mechanism a few times, and viola!! the door closed. it's warm here in Tucson, so i doubt this is a cold issue. anyone else with similar problems? when my wife comes home with the van later, i'm going to take a gander at the owner's manual to see if this is covered in any troubleshooting section.

You could try cleaning the contacts.

If that doesn't work, I'd take it into the dealer to have them check it out.

My wife had this problem yesterday and took it into the dealer today. They said that there are a couple of tech bulletins out on this problem and that it is about a 4 hour job to take the door apart and fix. Unfortunatly, I am in Virgina until February and my wife really doesn't want to have the fix done until I get back to San Diego. So, I will have this fixed and the steering pull fixed at the same time. I'll let you know how this turns out.

MINE TOO! it just happened today to me today. i thought it was the cold weather. i have owned mine for about 3 weeks. i thought i was out of the woods with factory defects but it looks like i got one after all. CRUD thanx for the heads up!!!!!! thank you thank you....

Did you play with the "plungers" of the locking mechanism? if so, did this help? FWIW, I have not had a recurrence.

nope i did not toucch the plungers i turned off the motor on the dash and i manually closed the door.

then miraculously she worked again....

my door did the same as edp10 door.

well it better be under warrenty.. and if it is we'll see how well Planet Honda of NJ handles it!

No problem with my doors on my 02 EX-L. Work like a charm. I'll let you know if I have any problems.

I have had the same problem with my 2000. It occurs on both sides. I did do a cleaning of the contacts (both on door and on frame) with a cloth, and even pushed them in to clean them off. That helps--for a while. If your having problems, get them to fix it under the warrenty. I had one door done twice.
