Ok - so our side engine mount needed replacing (easy to see - it was torn) - how do you inspect the front mount (the one which looks like a cone) and the rear mount (which looks sort of like the side one, just bigger)? It's hard to see if there are tears or anything for the rear as it seems to be shielded on the side - are there any spacings, etc. I should be looking for? Service manual doesn't say anything about it other than where it is.

This is a universal rule for virtually all cars out there, from Toyota Camry to Honda etc.:

- Place a floor jack under the engine. Place a piece of wood between the floor jack and the engine floor pan.
- Gently jack the engine a bit (not to much force), if the engine mount lifts up (separating from the base), then the answer is clear.
