Fog lights console switch mistmatch

I just installed my foglights that I got from HandA, thanks to all for the great tips posted in several different threads, specially to Chuck for his wiring mod and Mel for his installation notes...they were very valuable to say the least. I would like to ask a question though...the foglight switch color does not match the color of the console (I have the quartz interior)like the overhead lights switch does!. The switch actually looks like a light grey when compared with the console. Is this the case for everyone? For a $300 accessory I would think the match should be perfect.

That's interesting. As far as I know, the area of the dash that the fog light switch mounts to is the same color regardless of what your interior color is. I recently mounted my fog lights also and everthing matches up just fine. You might be able to get them to swap switches to see if you get a better match. Good luck!

Steve
I also have the quartz interior and just went to check my switch. It is colored black just like the rest of the surrounding console and I can see very little difference, other than the switch is smoother than the grainy look of the console. If yours is different, I would talk to Trevor at H and A about it. Perhaps he could exchange it for you.

Thanks Intrepid175 and vangirl.
You just confirmed my suspicion, I will contact Trevor and request an exchange.

Just wondering, was your dash treated with a protectant, e.g., Zaino's Leather in a Bottle? It will make the original finish look both darker and shinier.

I noticed this when I missed a spot around the steering wheel. The untreated area really looked gray instead of black, or charcoal.

You might just need to treat the button.

BINGO!!! I owe you two Mel (your tips on another post and this one), we are using armor all to protect/clean the dashboard, after using it on the foglight switch I would say it matches now 98%

I feel relieved and

Thanks again to everyone!
