Hi all, I'm going to be taking the knuckles off my '95 to replace the lower balljoints and while planning this it occurs to me that it might be a good idea to have new new beaeings installed as well. My plan is to get a couple of used knuckles and install new parts into those so I don't have to take the van out of service to run around to machine shops etc.

The van has about 260k kms (163k miles). Is this a good idea or a waste of time and money?

Thanks!

I'd definitely replace the wheel bearing during the ball joint replacement. They have similar lifespans.

On my GM van the hub and speed sensor and all is one part, and had it developed slop. Parts are a bit high but yea with that amount of miles if you're keeping it for a long time. If you're going to sell trade, don't do it.
