It's strange that I just got an email from Tirerack about the new KYB rear struts for the Ody. Why would they only make the rears ???Hi guys,
Has anybody found a good aftermarket strut for the '05 - '10 Ody?
I'm not having a lot of luck finding any.
Cripes, it's not like they didn't make 8 kijillion of these vans.
Thanks,
Mike
Well, I'll be! I just went and checked the KYB catalog and they have front struts for 2005-2007 Odysseys, parts 339221 and 339220, both available "3rd quarter 2011".It's strange that I just got an email from Tirerack about the new KYB rear struts for the Ody. Why would they only make the rears ???
I agree. The tires are very soft and you really need to go with a shorter sidewall aka lower profile tire. I have aftermarket 18s and a low profile and it is tolerable, but I have a taller tire on my Jetta and hate the tire's wobbly ride especially on the highway. The Assurance ComforTred Touring while being soft and quite, sort of degrade the handling of Ody due to the very soft side wall.

On Bernardi parts page for Ody up to 2007, under chassis you will find diagram for Front Shock absorber listed as (-07) (I read up to 2007)Interesting,
So for FRONT struts, 2005-07 are different from 2008-2010?
The KYB Excel-G are marketed as OEM ride quality. This is not a performance strut.2. Is KYB "stiffer" than Honda?
I want a stiffer ride but not sure if this is the case for KYB.
I don't know for a fact, but just pure speculation.Do we even know who make shocks for our van. KYB used to make shocks for Lexus and some other brand so I wouln't be surprised if our vans use them too.
Anyone seen the struts yet? I don't see them yet on Tirerack or RockAuto.fyi, the KYB product is finally becoming available. Tire Rack will have them on 10/20/2011.
