Any tips on which LED bulb to get? And where to get them?

Thanks

I just installed my VLEDs interior lights and holy smokes are they bright! I'll try and get pictures. I ordered festoon for the front map lights when they should be wedge, so I had to reorder the correct bulbs =/

Finally got around to taking pics of my interior. All LEDs are from VLED. I even changed the lights in the vanity mirrors, courtesy lights on the door and license plate. I also changed out the glove box with an LED I had laying around from my Camry but it doesn't work well. The LED itself is on the tip and when inserted, it's covered. Right now, it's dangling which provides light but I may have to modify an LED or just get one of these and just tape it to the top of the glove box:

I tried the 5000k vleds for the vanity ($2 each) and holy cow were they bright! Too bright for me or my wife. Even though you're looking at the mirror and not the lights, the placement of the lights cause a ton of glare. Not to mention the vleds have a slight flicker to them. I switched them back to the original incandescents. This isn't a problem on my other vehicle since the light is placed on the ceiling of the vehicle, shining down to your face - not in front of it.
I have the 5k VLEDs vanity (shown in my pictures above). I agree that they are really bright but I don't use the often but I could barely see with the original incandescents. It would be nice to have an on/off switch. My old Camry had a sliding cover. My wife usually opens it a little more than half way and the lights don't come on. If she needs the light, she'll open it all the way to turn it on.

I have this same issue with the vanity lights. I was thinking that rather than having the leds pointing outwards, I could simply flip them over and have them pointing inwards and that way the light won't be as blinding. I'm going to try it when it warms up. Too cold right now to go messing with it!

As for the LED in the glovebox - I didn't even know there was a light in there! Where is it located?
I thought about turning the LEDs as well so it wouldn't be that bright. Haven't really used it much at night to see if it was blinding. Let me know if it makes a difference and whether or not it helps but still usable.

As for the LED in the glovebox, it's in the middle, at the top near the edge. It only turns on when you have the parking/headlights on. If you reach up inside, you'll feel the wireloom and socket base. There is a small cut out that you can feel and that's where the light shines through (you'll know when its dark out and you have the lights on). To get access to the bulb, just twist the socket and it will come out. Now you can remove the bulb. The bulb size is 74.

The bulb I have is similar to this but only 1 LED at the very tip. When inserted back into the "housing" the LED is covered and no light is shining into the glovebox. With the one below, there are LEDs on the sides so it should be shining down into the glovebox opening even though the tip is covered.

#74 LED WEDGE BASE DASH LIGHT BULBS | 1 PAIR - 74 LED - Shop Bulb #

I looked (more like felt) the top of the glovebox and not much room or area to install external LEDs.

ALUMINUM BAR LIGHT STRIPLIGHT 3 CHIP 15 LED - May be a bit overboard in terms of output just for the glovebox. It will definitely light up the glovebox. Tried to find a suitable location that is flat (length) to mount this.

5K WHITE MINI SQUARE 6 LED - This may be the best option. Even though it is small, it will be bright enough. You can mount this at the top of the glovebox since it is small enough (may have to be off-centered a little). You can probably mount this on the side of the glovebox (inside) but may be covered by stuff inside the glovebox.

VLEDs is the only company I know of that has 74 LED base adapter. Otherwise, I would just buy the adapter, solder my own flexible LED strip to it. It may still be doable by just exposing wires from the LED strip of your choice and inserting it into the adapter and taping it off/shrinkwrapping so it doesn't come out.

Thanks, I will go take a look at it when the weather warms up a bit! I have some of those LED's so shouldn't be a problem. If the tip is covered, I may just drill it out same as what I did with the stock floor led's.

Would love to tap into the stock floor leds and put another set in the front seats so the rear passengers get some floor lights as well.
If you mean drilling as in a hole so that the LED will shine, I don't think it will do anything. The LED will be shining towards you and not inside the glovebox unless you're redirecting the angle of the LED location.
How hard is it change the bulbs out? I don't want to break any of the housings.
They are easy. I used trim tools but you can use a flathead screwdriver and just wrap it with a cloth to help remove the clear covers. College Hills Honda has a video on how to remove them

I didn't think about turning the leds inwards. I'll give that a try. I know what you mean about the cold as we've had record low temperatures the past few days. It was a freezing 66 degrees this morning where I live.:DD
66 degrees? I'd be in tshirt and shorts.

Try -5 degrees after windchills :(
For additional places to buy LEDs, you can check out www.superbrightleds.com and www.autolumination.com
I'm getting tired of this. I think I am going to go with the 6000k Kolite from Amazon. Most of these LEDs are 27-28mm long, does anyone know what is the max length that fits and still allows the cover/ switch to function?
6000k are blueish. 5000k are white. Usually when it comes to LEDs, they're typically 6000k, 5000k (cool white) or 3000k (warm white).

Like you, I'm not a fan of the blue look and the 5000k isn't blue and more white. 6000k is more bluer. It's perfect. Warm white is too yellowish for me.

Looking to change the interior lights on my 2015 EX-L to LED. I saw that College Hills Honda offers a kit for this (Odyssey LED Interior Lighting Kit - ODYLED - College Hills Honda) at about $52 including shipping. Can someone who's bought this kit provide feedback on it? It seems a bit pricey compared to other LED kits I see on ebay at 3x/4x the cost. But if it comes from a Honda dealer, maybe they've figured out the best bulbs to use?

In the College Hills Honda installation video, they show changing the LED light for the rear license plate, but their kit doesn't seem to include a bulb for this. I guess technically, it's not an interior light, but strange that the installation video for the kit would show this.
Some people have bought from them and have been happy. I believe people posted the experience in this thread. Just because it comes from a Honda dealer, doesn't mean its the best bulbs to use. All they did was do the leg work and get all the LEDs for you without having to find out which ones you need. I personally not a fan of the LEDs with the resistors being exposed. I've had bad experiences with them. I've had a few that actually caught on fire and burnt the map light housing and clear plastic.

As for the eBay bulbs, I wouldn't recommend them. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay. I spent over $100 on interior bulbs from VLEDs. They're top quality bulbs, reliable and bright! I head Philips, Putco bulbs are good as well but never used them. They are also a bit pricey.
Does vleds.com have a package for the 2015 Odyssey? Don't see one on their site. I'm not sure what all bulbs I need to get to replace all the interior lights and rear license plate so I thought I should look for a kit/package that would include everything I need.
Unfortunately, VLEDS doesn't really have a package at all for any vehicles. I have been getting a few PMs about which bulbs I got from VLEDs, so I'll share it here as well

I didn't order the license plate lights or the flood lights on the passenger/door because I had some old bulbs from my previous vehicle that I took out when it was totaled. Any 194 sized LED bulbs will work for the license and flood lights - LED License Plate Lights - Long Lasting and High Performance LED License Plate Bulbs for Cars and Trucks

The 194 that I purchased (2nd from the list) will also work in the license plate. These will also work since the LED is aimed down and its slightly cheaper - 5K WHITE 4 LED HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158 160LM | 1 PAIR - 194 - 168 - 158 LED - Shop Bulb #

I've also included the switchback and brake lights for those interested.

Hey Guys are they any LED's that have the same warm glow as the OEM lights? I am not sure what is the color of the OEM lights but I like the warm glow of the OEM's just do not like the brightness of them. So I want the same just brighter. Does anyone have a solution like that? I do not for some reason like the white lighting.

edit:

After some research. I found that the OEM lights are around probably 3200-4000K

If you see this chart I want around a 5000-5500k light if possible.
OEM kelvin is 4300k (aka warm white for LEDs). Since you said you don't want white, 5000k is white. 6000k is bluish white.

My VLEDs are 5000k

Okay I am going to take the plunge.. here is what i selected. I know what I want for my map lighting. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MGI60RQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3S0HI8524HWX9

But for the dome light i dont know which one to choose. I want a bright dome light...I found the following to be very bright. at 450 Lumen for 4
Amazon.com: Cutequeen Trading 4pcs White 450 Lumens 5730 9-SMD 42mm(1.72") 12V Festoon Dome Light LED Bulbs 211-2 212-2 569 578 - White (pack of 4): Automotive

or these ones would be good enough? at 320 lumens?
Amazon.com: Cutequeen 8pcs White 42mm(1.72") 2835 320 lumens 16-SMD 16SMD 12V Festoon Dome Light LED Bulbs 211-2 212-2 569 578 - White (pack of 8): Automotive

Sill other ones dont come with any Lumen ratings at all.
I'm always hesitant of buying LEDs from no name brands/companies. I done it before and never doing it again. The bulbs are either poor quality, not bright, no longer works after a few months or it catches on fire/burns. Luckily, it didnt burn the car or burn any of the electrical wires. Even though it's an LED and it doesn't use a lot of power, it can definitely do some damage.

Not worth my fears or trouble of saving some money. I'll spend the extra money and have the satisfaction that it'll work and it won't catch on fire or burn my car down.
Here's my full interior upgrade with hids and reverse lights
Nice with the LEDs. Don't know about those plug and play HIDs.

People have complained how bright my interior lights are. If I ever drop a needle, I know I'll find it. Lol
Guys i bough 2 sets of led lights. one didnt work at all. But the 24 led cob lights worked great. they are putting out lots of white light. its bright. not sure whats the rating but its must be bright. Anyways they are nice...so check them out. I'll upload my pics soon.

Just becareful and pray they don't catch on fire. Had a cheap LED burn on me. Melted the LED board and had schmoot on the clear cover and light housing.
I am new so forgive me if this has already been answered, is that all of the bulbs for the interior, tai lights, backup lights, etc?

Triton V3 is optional. That is for the front and rear blinkers. Mine are from VLEDs.com. It all depends on how much you're willing to spend. I spent over $400 on LEDs. If I didn't get the Tritons, it would be around $150-180. There are many other places that have LED bulbs. You just have to find the right part number such as 194, 921, 7443. The only thing I don't have listed on the list is a trunk dome light. It is 3175/DE3175.

What you pay is what you get. I'll pay a little extra and get quality bulbs with great output rather than pay cheap and save money only to spend more to replace a broken one or risk the LED catching on fire because of poor quality.

Am I just dumb, or do you have to take that center trim piece off of the tailgate to get access to the license plate bulbs? I saw the College Hills Honda video about how to disconnect the license plate bulbs - but I can't get the darn thing to come through that small opening so that I can get it out of the tailgate assembly?

I couldn't tell if it was my fat fingers or my tired brain causing the problem, but I thought I'd ask here if there's a trick that I'm overlooking.

Thanks in advance guys!
I think there is a cover in the middle of the tailgate on the inside. Just pop off the interior cover and twist the bulb socket off and change the bulb.

If it is from the outside, just use a flat head screw driver to help push the tabs in.

I knew there was a panel there. How else would that chrome garnish be removed?
I read the entire long thread thread and the Phillips website and just wanted to review the bulbs with someone who has done this before. It seems to be hard to figure out exactly which type of bulb for my 2016 even after all this reading.

#74 - glove box light (1)
#DE3175 - luggage compartment light (1)
#2825 - map light bulb (2)
#194 - interior door light bulb (2)
#168 - courtesy light bulb (4)

Are those correct? Mainly the number of 168 and 194. Are 168 the bulbs that go in the 2nd and 3rd row overhead lights? I will not upgrade the vanity lights.

Thanks guys.
Map light is 194.

194 and 168 are the same exact bulbs.

194/168 is what goes in the overhead in the 2nd and 3rd
Anyone have a bill of materials for this, a list of lights for a 2011 Ody EXL?

Some of these door lights and map lights are identical to the cargo lights and what have you. I can't tell how many of what to order.

Trying to get a list together, want to replace ALL interior stock lights with LED.
https://www.odyclub.com/forums/54-2...rior-led-upgrade-post1309281.html#post1309281

The first 3 are interior. Since the 194 came in pairs, I needed 6 (front map lights, 2nd and 3rd row). You probably want to get another pair for the door (I extras that I took off my totaled car). 3175 you only need one and that is for the rear trunk. And you'll need 4 bulbs for the visor mirror. I don't have bulb #'s for these. I purchase all my lights from VLEDs. They're a bit more expensive but they're bright as hell. Friends and family complain but when they drop something, they don't. Lol.
