Any tips on which LED bulb to get? And where to get them?

Thanks

I'm getting tired of this. I think I am going to go with the 6000k Kolite from Amazon. Most of these LEDs are 27-28mm long, does anyone know what is the max length that fits and still allows the cover/ switch to function?

6000k are blueish. 5000k are white. Usually when it comes to LEDs, they're typically 6000k, 5000k (cool white) or 3000k (warm white).

Like you, I'm not a fan of the blue look and the 5000k isn't blue and more white. 6000k is more bluer. It's perfect. Warm white is too yellowish for me.

Alright, I just installed the 6000k Kolite from Amazon. And I like them a lot! Light is white and not blueish, like the 3$ for 8 ones on Amazon are (don't ask me how I know). Also, you do need the clearance, so the 27-28mm LEDs would not allow the cover to push on the switch. Also like how the dome disperses light nicely, highly noticeable on the ones on the bottom of the door.

Highly recommend them

Looking to change the interior lights on my 2015 EX-L to LED. I saw that College Hills Honda offers a kit for this (Odyssey LED Interior Lighting Kit - ODYLED - College Hills Honda) at about $52 including shipping. Can someone who's bought this kit provide feedback on it? It seems a bit pricey compared to other LED kits I see on ebay at 3x/4x the cost. But if it comes from a Honda dealer, maybe they've figured out the best bulbs to use?

In the College Hills Honda installation video, they show changing the LED light for the rear license plate, but their kit doesn't seem to include a bulb for this. I guess technically, it's not an interior light, but strange that the installation video for the kit would show this.

Some people have bought from them and have been happy. I believe people posted the experience in this thread. Just because it comes from a Honda dealer, doesn't mean its the best bulbs to use. All they did was do the leg work and get all the LEDs for you without having to find out which ones you need. I personally not a fan of the LEDs with the resistors being exposed. I've had bad experiences with them. I've had a few that actually caught on fire and burnt the map light housing and clear plastic.

As for the eBay bulbs, I wouldn't recommend them. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay. I spent over $100 on interior bulbs from VLEDs. They're top quality bulbs, reliable and bright! I head Philips, Putco bulbs are good as well but never used them. They are also a bit pricey.
We're you looking at replacing all of your interior bulbs? If so we can put a package together for you as well with Philips or Putco LED bulbs,

Danny

Does vleds.com have a package for the 2015 Odyssey? Don't see one on their site. I'm not sure what all bulbs I need to get to replace all the interior lights and rear license plate so I thought I should look for a kit/package that would include everything I need.

Yes, I'm looking to replace all the interior bulbs (maps lights, driver/passenger side door lights, vanity mirror lights, 2nd/3rd row passenger lights, cargo light) as well as the rear license plate lights. I saw that your site has an Odyssey dome light kit (2011-2012 Honda Odyssey LED Dome Lights), but I'm not sure what all replacement lights that includes and if that kit would work for my 2015 Odyssey. Using the Shop By Vehicle feature on the site, it seems that dome light kit is for the 2011-2012 Odyssey. I believe there are some differences in some of the interior lights between the 2011-2013 and 2014-2015 Odyssey based on different kits that collegehillshonda is selling (Odyssey LED Interior Lighting Kit - ODYLED - College Hills Honda).

I bought a full LED kit from Amazon. It was under $40 and included the license plate light. I loved the results.[/SIZE]
So, this is the final update.

I've finally 'finished' my Full LED interior upgrade.

1. Kolite T10 KR-001 and KR-002 6000K white for domes. KR-001 is slightly brighter than KR-002. KR-001 for second row and KR-002 for third row. Whiteness is the same for both of them. ZERO blue tint. You can't go wrong with either. $9.98 for a pair
It's curious you mentioned that the Kolite KR-001 bulbs are brighter than the KR-002. Per amazon's listing, the KR-001 (http://www.amazon.com/Kolite-Superbright-Power-Wedge-Straight/dp/B00HF06NMM) is 90-95 lumens, while the KR-002 (http://www.amazon.com/Kolite-Power-Wedge-Spread-100~105/dp/B00H306ZJA) is 100-105 lumens. The other difference I see is that the KR-001 uses a spot type lens cover while the KR-002 uses a spread type lens. Maybe you were viewing the bulbs straight on, in which the KR-001 might appear brighter, but at other angles, the KR-001 might be darker because the light isn't dispersed as well as the KR-002.

Which Kolite bulbs did you get? The KR-001, KR-002 or KR-030?

(BTW, seems like an odd part number for the KR-030. Not sure why they didn't just label it KR-003 to be consistent with the others. Wonder if it's a typo on the amazon.com listing)
Thanks for all the useful information on the bulbs. After reading your reviews and seeing your pictures, I decided to give the Kolites a try but was a little worried that the interior of my 2015 would be too bright and white for my liking. So I went ahead and ordered just one pair of the KR-001 and one pair of the KR-030, which I read was several steps dimmer, so I could do a side by side comparison. Both are very bright and white but to my relief the brightness levels were fine. As expected, the KR-030 was not quite as bright as the KR-001 but the difference was very minimal. I probably would not have noticed the difference unless someone told me or if I stared at the lights. One thing I did notice though was that the KR-030 did a better job of disbursing the light. The KR-001 has a lens on the top that magnifies the light in one direction almost like a flashlight, while the KR-030 has a white cap that diffuses it more. When looking at the map and dome lights, you can tell that the reflector has more of a glowing light with the KR-030 while the KR-001 has a noticeable bright spot. I prefer this quality of KR-030 and will probably buy more for the remaining domes and door lights.

I was wondering if you or anyone else ever tried the KR-007 5000K bulbs in the domes? As much as I like the KR-001 and KR-030, I think I prefer a warm white over the cool. These are rated at 200 lumens so technically they are twice as bright as the KR-001 and KR-030 - probably too bright but just curious. Also, they are longer bulbs so they may not fit.
Thanks for the info on your experience. Seriously considering getting the Kolite bulbs for my 2015 EX-L now, although not sure which one yet. Did you consider the KR-002? It seems to be the same as the KR-030 except for the lens cover, where the KR-030 has a frosted cover and the KR-002 has a clear, spread-type cover. So the KR-002 should diffuse light better than the KR-001, but I'm not sure how it would compare to the KR-030.

Also, would anyone know if all these Kolite T10 bulbs (KR-001, KR-002, KR-030) would work for the Odyssey rear license plate lights, and if so, which one would be the best for these lights?

Unfortunately, VLEDS doesn't really have a package at all for any vehicles. I have been getting a few PMs about which bulbs I got from VLEDs, so I'll share it here as well

I didn't order the license plate lights or the flood lights on the passenger/door because I had some old bulbs from my previous vehicle that I took out when it was totaled. Any 194 sized LED bulbs will work for the license and flood lights - LED License Plate Lights - Long Lasting and High Performance LED License Plate Bulbs for Cars and Trucks

The 194 that I purchased (2nd from the list) will also work in the license plate. These will also work since the LED is aimed down and its slightly cheaper - 5K WHITE 4 LED HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158 160LM | 1 PAIR - 194 - 168 - 158 LED - Shop Bulb #

I've also included the switchback and brake lights for those interested.

I did consider the KR-002 but according to another poster, they were only slightly less bright than the KR-001. My concern from looking at everyone's pics was that the KR-001 might be too bright so I went with the KR-030 as the comparison bulb. I ended up preferring the KR-030 so I bought them for the rest of the interior.
Hey Guys are they any LED's that have the same warm glow as the OEM lights? I am not sure what is the color of the OEM lights but I like the warm glow of the OEM's just do not like the brightness of them. So I want the same just brighter. Does anyone have a solution like that? I do not for some reason like the white lighting.

edit:

After some research. I found that the OEM lights are around probably 3200-4000K

If you see this chart I want around a 5000-5500k light if possible.

OEM kelvin is 4300k (aka warm white for LEDs). Since you said you don't want white, 5000k is white. 6000k is bluish white.

My VLEDs are 5000k

Okay I am going to take the plunge.. here is what i selected. I know what I want for my map lighting. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MGI60RQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3S0HI8524HWX9

But for the dome light i dont know which one to choose. I want a bright dome light...I found the following to be very bright. at 450 Lumen for 4
http://www.amazon.com/Cutequeen-Tra...429670806&sr=1-1&keywords=dome+light+5730+led

or these ones would be good enough? at 320 lumens?

I'm always hesitant of buying LEDs from no name brands/companies. I done it before and never doing it again. The bulbs are either poor quality, not bright, no longer works after a few months or it catches on fire/burns. Luckily, it didnt burn the car or burn any of the electrical wires. Even though it's an LED and it doesn't use a lot of power, it can definitely do some damage.

Not worth my fears or trouble of saving some money. I'll spend the extra money and have the satisfaction that it'll work and it won't catch on fire or burn my car down.
Here's my full interior upgrade with hids and reverse lights
