I have Honda 1999 EX. My car ignition switch was bad, it turned off while driving on highway, i tried to put it on neutral to start it while driving, gear stick slips to reverse with a sound and from that day, my car's reverse gear is not working, all farward gears works fine and smooth. Can somebody help me what to do, do i have to replace the whole transmission or only part of it.
thanks

try taking off the terminals to the battery for 30 seconds and then put it back on. that may work. if that doesn't you may have messed up the tranny and may need a new one. which will really suck. good luck my friend.

Come up with about $3K to fix your transmission :-(

Been there, done that :-( :-(

I bet it makes nasty sound when you put in the reverse. Honda automatic transmissions are nothing but
glorified manual transmission with bunch of solenoids and valves. You have destroyed the internal reverse gear. I have seen the remains. Fortunately in my case damage was limited to that gear only but it still costs me close to $3K.
