Hello Member,
Has anyone here converted their 2011+ to Touring elite HID?? I know i could purchase plug-in aftermarket HID; however, from my past experience, those HID causes corrosion on the wiring and the battery/terminal. So I am going with factory HID.

PART # 1 and #13 cost approximately $260 on touring elite but on all other model it's around $150. with that said, does touring elite part #1 and #13 comes w/ igniter and the bulb(D2S)? or is headlight on touring elite different than other models?

I was looking at that as well, you need#11 and #7. Thats the igniter and control box. Also the bulb would be seperate as well, I think.

after reading 8 pages of hid thread below, it looks like we need to spend $2000 to convert it a factory HID.

I guess the sytem requires a self adjusting mechanism, ballasta, igniter, new wiring all other BS.. I would do it if the system doesn't require a self adjustment mechanism. i don't care about blinding the other driver lol

I love xenons but if you don't get them from the factory then I think you just have to live with it. I have had them on my two Audi's, my ML doesn't have them and I just bought a 2001 A4 as a train/weekend car and it thankfully has xenons.

I wish my Ody had them but I am not paying $42k+ for a mini van (just my opinon) just to have xenons. I wish they offered them as an option or package and not just via a trim level.

Agreed. The lights are awesome, but need to be installed and operate properly so as not to blind oncoming drivers. Just my opinion and the law....

On a side note, I installed Silverstar Ultra's in my ML350 and they almost look like xenons. I forgot I had them in and we had to move cars tonight and my wife was in the ML behind me and I noticed the headlights looked like xenons. They are rated at 4100k per the manufacturer and claim 50% more light and viewing.

I like them in the ML and really notice the color when I turn on the fog lights, the fogs are a very different color when I look out on the road after I turn them on. I may just have to buy a pair for the Ody.

I bought a pair of headlight housing (non-HID for my retro)-- and I was surprised that everything (like low beam, high beam bulbs, side marker bulbs) was included when I just purchased a housing..

so, to the OP I would assume that when you purchase an HID housing it'll come with everything.

Just a thought. Sometime you can find late model cars (vans) in salvage yards that have been totaled but had frontends undamaged. Could be an options if you'll lucky.
