Hey everyone. I have been looking to replace our '06 Mazda MPV. Looked at the Sienna and Odyssey. Considered the Quest, but since I can't seem to find any to look at, I crossed that one out quickly. Today we purchased a '11 Ody EX-L in Topaz with Truffle. We were very happy with our Mazda, but were just outgrowing its capacity and reliability was becoming a factor. Glad to be a part of this forum, and I look forward to learning quite a lot with you guys about this new vehicle!

Congrats on the purchase!

You'll enjoy the drive of the Ody. I fell in love coming from a Hummer.

very kid friendly too. ...another reason for choosing the Ody.

I also looked at the '11 Sienna Limited.
the only positive I saw was it had the AWD option, but no one here locally had one.

My boys sat in both vans...and they all agreed the Ody was their choice.

Thanks guys.

We looked at the Sienna as well. We liked some of the features a lot, but it seemed apparent to us that the Honda was put together with a more solid feel and a better drive. Cases in point: the glove boxes in the Sienna were flimsy to the touch, the dash sounded hollow, and the switches were not very reassuring. My 3 kids could have broken that Toyota down to its components in a matter of months. Also the rear axle in the Sienna is twist beam (if I am not mistaken). I wanted my money to go to luxury that was built into the vehicle, not just bells and whistles added onto a car. I know some will disagree, but we simply experienced more quality in the Honda...and this from someone who said he will never buy a new American car because they're so cheaply made.

It didn't influence my decision, but after my oldest son (10 years)got out of the Honda, he exclaimed "Dad, I love this car! It's sooo cool!"
