I have an 04 Odyssey EX-RES with almost 79K miles.
On my way back from vacation last Thursday, I noticed a slight droning noise. I figured that it might be due to a perforation in the exhaust line. With the winters and the road salt, it seemed plausible.
When I took it over to Midas, the exhaust system checked out okay. They test drove the vehicle to confirm the noise and speculated that it might be the wheel bearing. Apparently, they ruled that out as well. They then hoisted the vehicle up on the lift with one person giving it gas while another person with a stethescope hunted for the source of the noise. They told me that it was coming from the transmission. The tranny seems to shift okay.
I made an appt. with the dealer to pay 89.99 for a diagnosis. Any ideas? Has this occurred to a fellow owner? Appreciate any feedback.
