Nothing earth shattering to report. I actually had someone else install my hitch and wiring. Shhhhhh!!!

Hidden Hitch round tube hitch
Ball mount
Ball mount pin
Ball
Wiring

All of that installed for $189.44 including tax while I sat inside reading a magazine. If you're in Houston and want a good deal from some really great people, go to Johnson GT on Hwy 6, just south of I-10.

The receiver cover was bought online from U-Haul for $10 or so shipped.

You just described my wife one week every month.

I'm working on the tranny cooler now. I'm waiting for the Ody to cool, but I've taken some pics.

Here's a sneek preview ...

I may not get to the cooler until in the morning. I'm changing my oil this weekend too.

My Ody to-do list this weekend:

Trailer hitch (done)
Tranny cooler
S2000 antenna
Mud guards
Bug deflector
Test fit of the Honda bra
Wash
Zaino
Rotate tires

Is that all?

I'd be interested in the Honda tranny cooler hose size and if you end up needing any adapters to install the aftermarket unit. Are you straping it infront of the A/C condensor?

WOW! How many of "you" are there, Jim?

Ambitious agenda for sure! Please take pics if you can of the trans cooler install, I'm very interested in doing the same thing on mine.
By the way, Hidden Hitch is kind of a misnomer-I can see the whole darn thing

Jim,

PLEASE tell me that you're not going to use those "through the radiator thing" straps!

Seriously, I've heard complaints about damage done to the radiator (or A/C condenser) from that type of mounting. I really think some sort of bracket is a better option. Maybe something bent from 1-by flat stock.

Yep. The kit comes with 3/8" hose. The only things you need other than the kit is one hose clamp for the 3/8" hose (4 are included, you need 5) and a quart of Honda ATF.

Hayden 403 ATF cooler - $34.98 at Pep Boys
3/8" hose clamp - $0, Had one laying around
Honda ATF - $4.98 or so

Just over $40 with tax.

I'm done, but here's a pic at the half way point. The cooler sits above the power steering "cooler".

I had one of these on my Mustang and never had any problems. I never came across any problems reported when I researched the project on the net. What have you heard?

Forgive my sarcasm, but 'Hidden Hitch'?!! It's a bloody great black tube across the rear of the van with a big white sticker on it! I know it's not really possible to hide a hitch on the back of an Ody due to the 3rd row seat-well, but you'd think they could at least come up with a more subtle sticker!

I took my stickers off right after I took the pics.

FWIW- I have had this type of cooler and mounting on my '96 Windstar for 4 years and 70k miles with zero problems.

I peeled off the "Hidden Hitch" and "GVW Spec" stickers on my Hidden Hitch. If the hitch is supposed to be hidden, then don't advertise it I say.

You cant really blame Hidden Hitch for it's location. It's that seat well and full bumper skirt. I guess Hidden Hitch felt that since they wanted their hitches to be bolt on DIY jobs they let it hang that low instead of getting the installer to cut holes in the bumper cover.
I had a Hidden Hitch on my DC and it was really hidden, it sat up behind the bumper cover.

I guess they could've called the Honda version "Here's My Hitch!"

The Hidden Hitch available now is a Class 3. They are working on a Class 2 that will be hidden. Atleast that's the rumor.

I think a Class 3 hitch on the Ody is overkill. I pity the fool that rearends us.

The problem is for most folks who just want to hang a bike rack off the hitch - they need the 2" receiver. Very few hitch-mount racks work with a 1.25" receiver, which is a bummer. I've complained to Yakima many times, and they say that they have 1.25 racks in the works...

So for now, you buy a hitch that is capable of dragging 3500 pounds, just so you can hang your $million, 6-lb titanium bike out there.
